Comparative Evaluation of Membrane Filtration on the Tertiary Treatment of Synthetic Secondary Effluent

Wastewater reuse is essential for sustainable water management. However, it requires tertiary treatment within the plant to ensure suitable quality. This project aims investigate comparative performance of conventional (sand filtration) against membrane filtration technology demonstrate viability wastewater reuse. Sand along with two filtrations, Nano Filtration (NF) and Reverse Osmosis (RO), were tested their efficiency in removing target pollutants: chromium, phosphate, UV-254 from secondary effluent. Standard medium-sized laboratory setups used. Synthetic effluent was used comparison among different processes. The synthetic compared real reliability using Evaluation role time pressure on also examined. Based experimental results, RO had highest removal all pollutants more than 90% removal. results showed that reliable representing treatability wastewater. Time did not seem have an impact quality filtration. Moreover, as increased there a slight increase efficiency. trend observed except UV-254. ANOVA effect both NF well NF.
